Before buying an agricultural pH meter

Can a water meter measure soil directly?

Do not insert a water probe into soil unless its manufacturer allows it. For soil samples, follow the preparation method and probe requirements specified for your meter. Indicative soil testers are not equivalent to a calibrated pH meter or laboratory analysis.

What should I order with a pH meter?

Check the kit contents first: probe, calibration buffers and probe storage requirements. Request compatible buffers and any accessories not included, and specify whether you also need EC and TDS. Different meters and kits do not necessarily include the same accessories.
